14 trks
October 28, 2009
hey, do you know 14 tracks by Boomkat?
they have someone “curate” a selection of 14 tracks from a particular subgenre or artist and friends.
ok that sounds boring, but it’s not. it’s abso-funking-amazing.
like this one by 1/2 of PAN SONIC:
and this mix of HYPE GRIME:
and this one by Philip Jeck and William Basinski
plus so many more.
they charge you about $11US to download, or stream it online free.

New SoCal show

upcoming releases and events
September 11, 2009
I’ve been on a several month break from releasing albums as I nursed my broken elbow and shoulder. At this point, i’m mostly healed and going through physical therapy. So with that out of the way, I am getting ready to once again release a slew of albums in the months ahead and playing live gigs around SoCal and the East Coast.
Upcoming highlights include, monthly concerts of hard electro noiseness (dubstep, d’n'b, experimental, etc) in the Inland Empire region/Riverside region.
Also, be on the lookout for new magazine/album releases, including a special one on the Boston Molasses Disaster of 1919. Other upcoming releases include noise/dance mixtapes, thunderstorm recordings, and who knows what-all.
Saturday 9/12 I’m hosting Recession Special, a $free as in beer (Cheap as Free!) event at my studio. I’ll be getting rid of circuit bent gear, old tape machines, broken keyboards, etc. 2 – 4PM. Flyer below.

Fuck Sunshine on MUXTAPE
April 21, 2009
Muxtape is the shizz! So glad this thing’s going back up, now run as a musician/band-centered, simple-to-use place to share music. Fuck Sunshine has been invited to host music there. If all goes well, hopefully can get a lot more up there soon, and get some other Jewish Noise bands up there as well. Check it out. fucksunshine.muxtape.com
New FS album QUILTZ
April 16, 2009
Despite a broken elbow, Fuck Sunshine has released a shortie burner, QUILTZ. Weighing in at 23 minutes, it’s got the drones, groans, shrieks, squeaks, whistles, blabs, concrete, vocal jass you’ve been coveting and nothing else. Packaged in a 12-page eyespackled green zine with photos from the recent tour to the mid-Atlantic. Studio shots, performance shots and shots from the highway. Limited edition of 33. PIck it up or check it on the releases page. I guess technically this is the 3rd FS release of 2009 and the 7th in less than a year.
Coming soon to Jewish Noise: a stonecold ambient side by NJ’s chattr and noise/beat mix tapes from ???.

Review on Noise Noise Noise
March 26, 2009
The always excellent Noise Noise Noise review blog was kind enough to write a little review of Jewish Noise Magazine here. Excerpt here: “The first issue is field recordings sent in by a variety of aspiring artists. I am a sucker for field recordings and this is a pretty great collection of everything from a thunderstorm in New Jersey, traditional Jewish rites, oral histories, street noise etc. Fantastic stuff. I’ve been passing this around my immediate circle of friends who are open to such things and the reaction has been uniformly positive. I admire anyone who has the guts to start their own label and they deserve our support.”
Thanks for the kind words!!
Photos from Padlock performance
March 26, 2009
Thanks to Cars Will Burn for putting on a great show (and performance) at Padlock in Philly. Thanks to Mincemeat or Tenspeed and Dandelion Fiction for awesome performances. The audience was great. Met a lot of good people. Traded lots of albums. And lots of zine-trading going on at the show. Padlock is a cool space. Photos of Fuck Sunshine and Cars Will Burn below. Camera batteries died before Dandelion Fiction and Mincemeat or Tenspeed played. Anyone got any good shots or video?

This is the house sound system.

Cars Will Burn started off the night with an intense, fast, beat-driven set that threw in pop hits (i wish i could remember what – but it was top 40) totally f’ed up and chainsaw driven rhythm. beautiful.

Fuck Sunshine squawking on the telephone mic. All-analog, pedal and microphone action. Wailing broken vocal chord beatdown.

Padlock was filled with hundreds of zines. Here’s only one small section of the action.
2 new albums out
March 18, 2009
Pick up or download snOutakes by Fuck Sunshine or You’re A Strong One by Dandelion Fiction on the Releases page. D Fiction is a new addition to the Jewish Noise roster: a philly native by way of Upstate New York. Unique analog oldskool patchbay synthing, daxophone wizardry and singalong sing-songing. Art direction/design by Lily Benson. This is the bleeding edge. Don’t get cut.
