I’ll be performing music this Friday, November 14 from 5-6:30PM as part of Deli Dance at Relish in Riverside, CA. Info below!

“Hello Hello
In the spirit of togetherness, tastiness, and timeliness, please come this Friday to “Deli Dance,” an (early bird’s) evening of Shabbat dance theater (!) at Relish. Choreography:
Hannah Schwadron in collaboration with dancers (Rosie Trump, Melissa Hudson, Taywanna Hightower, Ann Mazzocca, Shannon Lynch)

Challah Baking:
Patch Schwadron

Live Music:
Jake Rekedal, Josh Brown, Lee Tusman, Terry Schwadron”

New Album + DVD from Dale J.

And now I present to you Orthodontic Aphrodisiac.

This album is the work of Dale Jimenez of Philadelphia-based band (perpetually on hiatus) Need New Body. It is a giant of an album. In 18 minutes, it packs in classical guitar, field recordings from Morocco and (maybe) Berlin, radio noise, conversations, and 8 bit-sounding instrumentals. And all of this comes together smoothly, never sounding abrasive to the listener, but still pushing you forward wanting to hear more.

Head over to the releases page for more info or to download. The album is released in an edition of 50 handmade copies with handprinted covers and handstamped CDs and DVDs, as well as an 8 page minibook featuring original art and photos. The DVD is 30 minutes long and features gallery exhibitions in Berlin, people getting locked in galleries, hip european dance music, rice feasts, cardboard gallery space stations, and more, created by Dale J.

Frankly, this album would be huge if it was released on a big label. Well, Jewish Noise ain’t a big label. So this is huge in a more modest way, which i guess means…quality!
